How We Spent It

Charity: Our reason for existence is also where most of our money goes. This is the money that keeps our laundromat free to the public and open 24 hours a day, provides blankets and new shoes to those in need, and puts food on the table of our weekly luncheons.

Salaries: We're grateful for the volunteers that help out at our events, but it's hard to ask people to do a 9 to 5 job for the same wage as them. This money goes to pay our store employees, including our sales team, janitorial crew, accountants, and unloading team. Everyone gets paid at least minimum wage here.

Fundraising: The generosity of our community is a massive reason for our success. The money we spend on fundraisers is how we're able to tap into that generosity. Water jugs and medals at our 5Ks, music and food at our picnics, and fireworks at our fireworks shows all mean we're able to keep raising money for important causes.

Operating Costs: This is the boring stuff. We put this money towards rent, electricity, shipping, and any other expenses that come with running a business. Bills, bills, and more bills.

Outreach: This is how we let people know when our events are happening, as well as how we get our name and cause out there. Money spent in this category goes to social media campaigns, keeping our website up to date, and advertising.
